Our Vision
At EPIC Wheels, we believe that a bike is more than just a means of transport; it's an extension of who you are. That's why your wheels should not only be light and stiff, but also have character, and all at a fair price. EPIC carbon wheelsets are developed by riders, for riders who don't settle for standard and strive for perfection in weight, stiffness and comfort, without having to take out a second mortgage.
How We Do It
Every set of EPIC Wheels is hand-built in our workshop in Amsterdam, with an eye for the perfect balance between weight, stiffness, comfort and price. Our rims are made from Japanese Toray 800 or 1000 carbon, and we exclusively use high-quality DT Swiss hubs and DT Swiss spokes. At EPIC Wheels, we make no compromises on quality. We only work with premium brands and continuously test our wheelsets for aerodynamics, efficiency, comfort and stiffness. The result is a reliable wheelset that responds instantly, inspires confidence on descents and effortlessly maintains speed on the flats.
Who are we?
Michael
Michael lives and breathes cycling. For 30 years, he's been on two wheels and has practiced just about every discipline in cycling. His passion for tinkering began during his student days at Presto Cycle Sport, where he learned to work on bicycles and build wheels as a mechanic and developed a keen eye for perfection in materials. Headstrong, energetic, a go-getter, and a bon vivant: that's Michael in a nutshell.
After studying Business Logistics at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), he embarked on a multifaceted career. He worked as an innovation consultant in the sports world, became an entrepreneur, ran his own campervan construction and rental company, and inspired students for many years as a lecturer at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
There, he developed the minor in Sports, Business & Leadership, taught marketing courses, and was responsible for the "entrepreneurship" component of the Sports Management and Entrepreneurship program. As much as he enjoyed his job at the university, he started to get the itch again: Michael wanted the freedom to chart his own course.
And so his latest venture was born: ATNMY Amsterdam, high-end, hand-built customizable road and gravel bikes, and EPIC Wheels. An Amsterdam wheel brand born from the same passion for quality, precision, and design as ATNMY, with its own unique vision for high-end carbon wheelsets. Hand-built, light, and lightning-fast, designed for riders who strive for perfection in every detail.
Floortje
Floortje is a versatile woman who is always open to new adventures. Her career began in healthcare, where she worked with young people with mild intellectual disabilities at a special education center. At 24, she decided to pursue her childhood dream and switched to aviation.
These days, she flies the world as a pilot for KLM. Her heart races with the breathtaking views from the cockpit, the diverse nature and cultures she encounters along the way, and the pure adrenaline rush as soon as the TOGA button is pressed and the engines propel the plane into the air at full throttle.
Besides her passion for aviation, Floortje has a deep love for cycling. Ten years ago, she first got on a racing bike after meeting Michael. Even on the bike, she thoroughly enjoys the views and the adrenaline of a fast descent or a challenging gravel path. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a shared passion. Now, she inspires others as a coach at Vrouwenwielrennen Amsterdam (Women's Cycling Amsterdam).

From branding and visuals to the clothing line and photography, her eye for detail gives everything a recognizable, stylish, and modern look.
